If you have no symptoms, you will be treated freely. In this case, you will be responsible for the full amount as it will not be covered by insurance. In addition, the public health center does not introduce medical institutions that offer free medical care. Please consult your family doctor or do your own research, such as by searching on the Internet.

Also, please use the free PCR test project by the Tokyo Metropolitan Government for asymptomatic citizens who do not have symptoms such as fever.

Q1-3Is it not possible to conduct a PCR test to confirm a negative result after completing medical treatment or after completing health observation as a close contact person?

Currently, the national policy does not recommend PCR tests after medical treatment or after health observation as a close contact person, so the public health center is also responding in the same way. You can return to your normal life from the day after you meet the criteria for canceling medical treatment or the criteria for completing health observation as a close contact person.

Q1-5 I tested positive at a testing institution other than a medical institution. What should I do?

Test results other than medical institutions have not been recognized as "positive" for the new coronavirus infection. A doctor's diagnosis is required. Please consult your family doctor or a nearby medical institution.

2.Those who have tested positive

Q2-1I heard that the scope of reporting of COVID-19 positive diagnoses from medical institutions to public health centers will change. How will this change?

Until now, medical institutions have notified public health centers of all patients diagnosed with COVID-19. Even if it is positive, it will not be subject to notification. In addition, even if you self-test with an antigen test kit * and it is positive, it will be handled in the same way as those who are not subject to notification.

*Antigen test kits are for medical diagnosis only. "Research use" is not eligible.

After September 26, 2022, if none of the following ① to ④ apply after a positive diagnosis at a medical institution, you will not be subject to notification and the public health center will not contact you. (If you have strong symptoms, need medicine, are over 65 years old, are pregnant, or have underlying diseases, please visit a medical institution for medical examination.)

Q2-3Will hospitalization/medical expenses and accommodation expenses be incurred when I am admitted to the hospital?

There is no burden on the patient as it will be a public expense. However, the patient will be responsible for the items purchased by the patient himself/herself during hospitalization, transportation expenses on the way home, treatment expenses other than corona, etc. In addition, depending on the income of the previous year, hospitalization and medical expenses may be partially borne by inpatients.

The cost of corona treatment after being found to be positive will be borne by public funds.

However, for patients who are not subject to the notification shown in Q2-1 , please register with the Tokyo Positive Persons Registration Center before having an outpatient visit. If you do not register, you will not be eligible for public expenditure.

Those who wish to be admitted to an accommodation facility can apply directly to the Tokyo Metropolitan Government over the phone, but if you are 65 years of age or older, please consult with the Kita Ward Public Health Center first. 3.Those who have been in close contact

Q3-1Please tell me about the health observation period if you become a close contact person.

Five days starting from the day after the last contact with a patient diagnosed as positive. Please refrain from going out for non-essential purposes during this period.
Example) Date of last contact: July 22 End date of health observation period: July 27 In this case, you can return to your normal life from July 28.

On the 2nd and 3rd days, if a test using an antigen qualitative test kit that has received pharmaceutical approval as an in-vitro diagnostic product (*) is confirmed to be negative on both days, regardless of whether or not the person maintains social functions. However, it was possible to cancel the standby from the third day. However, please do the following two things until the 7 days have passed.

Confirmation of health status by temperature measurement, etc.

Avoid contact with elderly people and high-risk people with underlying diseases, visit high-risk facilities, use places with a high risk of infectious diseases, avoid eating together, and implement infection control measures such as wearing a mask.

Even if the PCR test is negative, please refrain from going out for non-essential purposes until the end of the health observation period, considering the certainty of the test and the possibility of developing symptoms in the future.

Q3-6I heard that the PCR test for those who had close contact is free of charge.Is this true?

If you become a close contact person and visit a medical institution designated by the public health center, the cost of the PCR test will be borne by the public fund regardless of whether you have symptoms or not. However, you will be responsible for the examination fee, initial examination fee, specimen collection fee, etc.
If you wish to visit a medical institution other than those specified by the public health center, please notify the medical institution in advance that you have been in close contact with the patient. However, in this case, the cost of the PCR test will not necessarily be covered by public funds.

Currently, it takes more than a month from application to issuance (depending on the infection status).

We cannot provide proof of home medical treatment due to aftereffects after medical treatment has ended.

If you cannot use the My HER-SYS Medical Treatment Certificate, please check with your insurance company, etc. to see if the following alternative documents are available. (The public health center cannot answer this question.)

・Documents that show the results of PCR tests and antigen tests conducted at medical institutions, etc. ・Medical statement (medical management fee for hospitalization for type 2 infectious disease patients (includes temporary handling for outpatient treatment and medical fees) is stated)
・Prescription and dosing instructions describing the drug for treating COVID-19 ・Receipt results from the health follow-up center established by the local government (SMS, LINE, etc.)
・A copy of the short message exchanged between the public health center and the positive person ・Information sent by the public health center to the positive person (including points to note about health observation and life support)

Q4-2 Since I became positive after September 26, 2022 and was recuperating at home, I would like a certificate of recuperation.

After September 26, 2022, if you do not fall under any of the following ① to ④ after a positive diagnosis at a medical institution, you will not be subject to notification, and the public health center will not be able to issue documents indicating medical treatment.
