About extension of the expiration date of the new corona vaccine

The expiration date of a vaccine is set based on data collected by the company that manufactures and sells the vaccine, as to whether the quality is maintained when the vaccine is stored for a certain period of time, and is set through regulatory procedures. For this reason, even after the expiration date has been set once, if data can be collected on how the quality of the vaccine can be maintained when the vaccine is stored for a longer period of time, based on that data, it will be approved through regulatory procedures. The expiration date may be extended.
(Note) Please be assured that this is not an expired vaccine.

Pfizer vaccine expiry date extension

As of December 2022, the expiration date of the Pfizer vaccine for infants has been extended from 12 months to 18 months due to a notification from the government. For more information, please refer to the Handling of Vaccine Expiration Dates (December 16, 2020 Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare Health Service Bureau Communication Material) (external site) .
