A new coronavirus vaccination certificate (vaccine passport) is issued as a public proof of the fact that you have been vaccinated against the new coronavirus based on the Immunization Act.
There are two types of vaccination certificates: the "Overseas and Domestic Vaccination Certificate" with passport information, etc., and the "Japan Domestic Vaccination Certificate" without passport information, etc., and can be applied electronically or by mail.
In addition, from July 26, 2020, it is now possible to obtain it from terminals installed at convenience stores.

*The application for the certificate of vaccination should be made at the municipality where the certificate of residence is registered at the time of vaccination. If you have been vaccinated using a vaccination ticket issued by a different municipality for each vaccination due to moving, etc., please apply to the municipality where you have your resident card at the time of vaccination.
*The countries/regions where the COVID-19 vaccination certificate for overseas travel can be used will be announced on the Ministry of Foreign Affairs website from time to time.

Prior confirmation

*In order to obtain an overseas vaccination certificate at a convenience store, etc., after July 21, 2022, you will need to obtain an overseas vaccination certificate from the COVID-19 vaccination certificate app, municipal office, etc. and the passport number must be the same as that time.

*Please check in advance whether the municipality where you apply and the convenience store you use support the convenience store issuance service of the certificate of vaccination. Convenience store issuance services such as copies of resident cards may differ from municipalities and convenience stores that can be used.
