Target of notification of occurrence

From September 26th, the subject of the notification of outbreaks was limited to the following 4 types due to the review of the notification of all cases.

  • Over 65 years old
  • Those requiring hospitalization
  • Those who are at risk of aggravation and need new corona therapeutic drugs or oxygen administration
  • Pregnant women

Flow after diagnosis

After visiting a medical institution after the onset of symptoms, if the medical institution reports a positive case (outbreak report) to the public health center, contact the positive person by SMS (email) or phone, and inform them of the content of the report and health status. Take into account and decide on a treatment method.

Treatment method

Treatment will be one of the following: The end of medical treatment will be announced by each health observation institution.

  • hospitalization
  • Accommodation medical treatment
  • home care
  • Recuperation at other facilities

For home care

Any of the following will be a health observation.

  • Medical institution
  • Tokyo Follow-up Center
  • Ward Public Health Center

Initial contact from public health center

After receiving notification of the new coronavirus infection from medical institutions, the public health center will contact you by phone or SMS (short mail) in order.

  • The public health center may contact you using your mobile phone.
  • If there is no response to a phone call from the public health center and we are unable to confirm your safety, we may visit your home in case of an emergency.
  • If necessary, we may visit you in cooperation with the police and fire department.

Treatment method

If you test positive, do not go out and recuperate at home.
We will consult with you about hospitalization according to the risk of your medical condition and underlying diseases. Others will receive treatment at home or accommodation.

Those who are judged to require treatment depending on the situation, such as the elderly, those with chronic illnesses, pregnant women, those with persistent fever or respiratory symptoms, etc., will be hospitalized.
In principle, hospitalization and medical expenses will be covered by public funds. (Depending on your income, some self-pay may be incurred.)

Lodging facility

This is a sanatorium for people with mild symptoms who live with the elderly or those with underlying diseases who are at risk of infection in the home.

Health observation by home care follow-up center (Tokyo)

If you are over 50 years old or have an underlying medical condition, the home care follow-up center will conduct a health observation. If you are eligible for health observation by the Home Care Follow-up Center, you will be contacted by SMS or phone from the Home Care Follow-up Center.

Health observation by the Arakawa Public Health Center

The Arakawa Ward Public Health Center will conduct health observations for those who are at high risk of becoming seriously ill, such as the elderly or those with underlying diseases, who are recuperating at home.

During the period of recuperation, health checks are carried out by phone calls from the public health center or by [MY HER-SYS].
If there is no response to a phone call from the public health center and we are unable to confirm your safety, we may visit your home in case of an emergency.

Health observation by medical institutions

The medical institution that conducted the medical examination and examination for the new coronavirus infectious disease will conduct health observations over the phone, etc. for the home care recipient.
If you are subject to health observation by a medical institution, you will be notified by the medical institution at the time of diagnosis, so please recuperate at home under the instructions of the medical institution.

How to spend home care and points to note

Please take your temperature and use a pulse oximeter to check the oxygen concentration in your body so that you can be aware of any changes in your physical condition. You can also take over-the-counter antipyretics without any problem. Please check the usage and dosage carefully before use. However, if you are taking other medicines, are pregnant, breastfeeding, elderly, are being treated for gastric/duodenal ulcers or decreased renal function, or have had allergic symptoms or asthma caused by medicines, etc. If symptoms such as pain or high fever are severe, or if symptoms persist for a long time, it is necessary to consult your doctor or pharmacist.
