Pediatric vaccination (3rd vaccination)

When considering pediatric vaccination

Pediatric vaccination (3rd dose) is now available

Relevant laws and regulations were revised on September 6, and pediatric vaccination (third vaccination) was started. Along with the increase in the number of infected children, the number of severe cases is also increasing. After the first vaccination (1st and 2nd vaccination), the preventive effect decreases over time, but it is reported that the effect will be restored by administering the 3rd vaccination.

Please carefully check the effectiveness, safety, side effects, etc. of vaccination before considering vaccination.

On September 6, the Ordinance for Enforcement of the Preventive Vaccination Law was revised, and an obligation to make efforts was applied to pediatric vaccinations.

As certain scientific findings have been obtained regarding vaccination of children under the Omicron strain epidemic, it was deemed appropriate to apply the mandatory effort provision to children as well. However, the vaccination is not compulsory, and there is no change in receiving it based on the judgment of the person or guardian.

Effect of pediatric vaccination (3rd vaccination)

By receiving the new coronavirus vaccine, you will be less likely to develop symptoms even if you are infected with the new coronavirus. After the third vaccination for children aged 5 to 11, the neutralizing antibody titer (*) against the new coronavirus, including the Omicron strain, increases.

In addition, it has been reported that the efficacy of the first vaccination, which had decreased over time, was restored by the third vaccination.
