If you have a congenital blood clotting factor deficiency, etc., and your medical certificate is valid until March 31, 2023, you will need to apply for renewal.

The documents required for the renewal procedure will be sent out in order from the Bureau of Social Welfare and Public Health on December 16, 2020 (Friday) along with the "notice of expiration of the validity period." Please complete the renewal procedures at

If you have not received the documents necessary for the renewal procedure after mid-January, please receive them at your local municipal office.

・It is not an automatic update. Please be sure to perform the update procedure.
・In order to receive a new medical ticket within the validity period of the current medical ticket, it is necessary to complete the renewal procedure by February 3, 2023 (Friday). (However, it may be delayed if there are incomplete documents.)

If you have any of the following diseases, it is necessary to obtain a specific disease medical treatment certificate (Marucho).

* Congenital blood coagulation factor deficiency, etc.

  • Factor VIII deficiency (hemophilia A)
  • Factor 9 deficiency (hemophilia B)

A Certificate of Receipt of Specific Disease Treatment is issued upon application to your health insurance (if you have a medical insurance card for the elderly aged 75 or over, your municipality of residence). If you do not have one now, please be sure to receive it.
