Request for assistance from Mikolaiu Maternity Hospital

Task Force Ukraine is involved in a support project at the request of a maternity hospital in the city of Mikolaiv, one of the combat zones in southern Ukraine. The city of Mikolaiu has 21 hospitals and clinics and has a population of about 500,000, but nearly half of the population has fled the city due to heavy attacks. The city of Mikolaiu is a land route to Odesa and a strategic base for Russian forces. A doctor at a maternity hospital, which also provides gynecological and obstetric care to neighboring districts, including the city of Mikolaiu, expects the number of births to drop from more than 2,000 a year to 1,000 this year as the population declines. And I suspect that premature births may be more common as a result of stress.

Clinics are missing puerperal chairs, delivery beds, facilities for premature babies (oxygen tents), and resuscitation equipment. In addition, we plan to deliver medical consumables (infusion preparations) for intensive care to Cherkasy Oblast. Although the area is not a war zone, it provides medical care to many displaced patients. And Odesa has requested additional tourniquets, and we are responding to this request.

On April 7, the WHO announced that more than 100 attacks on medical facilities, transportation, etc. in Ukraine by Russian forces have occurred since February 24. In response, the World Medical Association issued a press release on the same day titled "Doctor Leaders Shocked by Bombing of Ukrainian Health Facilities". There, parties to the conflict respect relevant humanitarian law, target medical facilities, workers and vehicles, restrict access to medical care for the wounded and patients, and use medical facilities as military installations. that access to medical care is guaranteed to all victims, whether civilian or military; that physicians and all health care workers shall under no circumstances be prevented from exercising their unwavering obligations; I'm complaining about things that can't be done.

Also, the attack on Lviv in western Ukraine is of great concern, as it is a major hub for delivery of goods, including 'Task Force Ukraine' medicines and medical supplies, as well as a hub for displaced persons. I'm assuming
