Care when your child is infected with the new coronavirus

New coronavirus infections in infants usually end with cold symptoms for about 1 to 3 days. However, any cold can get worse and cause unexpected complications.

If you have any worrisome symptoms, consult your family doctor or a fever outpatient clinic . Observe your child closely when caring for him or her at home.

If your child has any of the following symptoms, it is necessary to immediately visit a medical institution that handles fever (Note 1).

  • Wheezing, breathing difficult, lying down and unable to sleep, pale complexion.
  • Inability to take fluids, or persistent vomiting or diarrhea, dry mouth, dark urine, little urine output, or no urine output.
  • I don't feel well and I'm exhausted all the time. Poor response to calls.
  • A baby under 3 months old who has a fever of 38°C or higher that lasts for several hours.
  • I jerked for the first time. Loss of consciousness after a seizure (Note 2). (Stretching limbs, shaking, eyes looking up)

(Note 1) Please be sure to contact the medical institution in advance when you have a medical examination. Please tell us your current symptoms and check if you can see a doctor.
