What is a close contact person?

From 2 days before the onset of symptoms for those who tested positive (2 days before the sample collection date for asymptomatic patients) to the end of medical treatment, the period during which there is a possibility of infecting other people (infectable period).
Among those who came into contact with the patient during this period, those who fall under the following range are considered close contacts.

  • People who live with the patient or have been in contact with the patient for a long time (in a car, on an airplane, etc.)
  • A person who examined, nursed, or cared for a patient without adequate protection against infection
  • Persons who are likely to have been in direct contact with contaminants such as respiratory secretions or bodily fluids of the patient

How to spend the waiting period

  • During the waiting period, please refrain from going out, commuting to work, or going to school unless it is absolutely necessary. If you have no choice but to go out, please wear a mask, wash your hands, and avoid contact with other people.
  • Avoid using public transportation as much as possible (trains, buses, taxis, airplanes, etc. used by an unspecified number of people).
  • Check your health every day.
