Not all people who have been in contact with patients with new coronavirus infection are "close contacts". Please check the definition of close contact and health observation, and make your own judgment and response.
What is a close contact person?
A "close contact" is a patient's infectious period (from 2 days before the onset of symptoms to being isolated after diagnosis),
- Patients (confirmed cases) and living together or prolonged contact (Including inside the car, airplane, etc.)
- Those who examined, nursed, or cared for patients (confirmed cases) without adequate protection against infection
- Those who are likely to have come into direct contact with contaminants such as airway secretions or bodily fluids of patients (confirmed cases)
- Others: Persons who have been in contact with the "patient (confirmed case)" for 15 minutes or more (surrounding environment and contact status) without necessary infection prevention measures at a distance that can be touched (1 meter as a guideline) comprehensively judge the infectivity of the patient based on individual circumstances).

About inspection
Close contacts can be tested in two ways.
Even if the test result is negative, it does not deny the infection, so it does not change that you are a close contact.
(1) Use test kits at home
You can perform the test at home using test kits you have purchased (limited to in-vitro diagnostics) or test kits distributed by the Tokyo Metropolitan Government.
For details and inquiries about the test kits distributed by the Tokyo Metropolitan Government, please refer to the link below.

- Antigen Qualitative Test Kit Application Site [Bureau of Social Welfare and Public Health, Tokyo Metropolitan Government] (External link)
*By inspection positive If it turns out, please respond as a positive person from the link below.
(2) Visit a medical institution
Please call the medical institution in advance and tell them that you are a "close contact person" and make an appointment for a medical examination.

Please check your health observation period as shown below, and refrain from going out during the observation period, such as going to work, going to school, going to kindergarten, or using nursing care or welfare services.
