If you have been in close contact with someone, please take care of yourself and help prevent the spread of infection.
(Response details may change depending on the infection status.)
[Response to those who are considered to be close contacts]
Please contact those who are considered to be rich contacts from infected people.
If a positive person occurs in an organization such as a company, please check the definition of a close contact person at the company etc.
What is a close contact person?
If you have been in contact with an infected person during the "probable period of infection" and fall under the following range, you are a close contact person.
Infectious period
- If the infected person is symptomatic
-
The period from 2 days before the infected person's onset (day of symptom appearance) to the period until isolation or the period until the criteria for the release of medical treatment are met.
- If the infected person is asymptomatic
-
The period from 2 days before the infected person collected a positive sample until he/she is quarantined, or until the criteria for canceling medical treatment are met.
Range corresponding to close contact
Among those who have been in contact with the patient during the infectious period (from 2 days before the onset of symptoms until being isolated after diagnosis), those who fall under the following range.
(From the National Institute of Infectious Diseases "Proactive Epidemiological Survey Implementation Guidelines for Patients with New Coronavirus Infection")
- Those who lived with the patient or had long-term contact with the patient
- Those who examined, nursed, or cared for patients without proper infection protection
- Those who are likely to have come into direct contact with contaminants such as respiratory secretions or bodily fluids of the patient
- A person who has been in contact with a patient for 15 minutes or more without taking necessary infection prevention measures at a distance that can be touched by hand (1 meter as a guideline) comprehensively judge gender).
in particular
- Housemates (family) who spend time without masks
- When eating together, you talked without wearing a mask (slide it to your chin)
- Conversation without wearing a mask in the break room or changing room
- We smoked together in the smoking area
- Spending a long time together in a poorly ventilated space (including inside a car, etc.)
Staying at home and observing the health of close contacts
In order to prevent the spread of infection to those who fall under close contact, we ask that you stay home for 5 days from the day after your last contact with an infected person. Avoid going out unnecessarily and non-urgently, and check your health condition by taking your temperature every day.
(Note) If an infected person who has been in contact with the virus is found to be infected with a conventional strain (delta strain, alpha strain, etc.), the person who has been in close contact with the virus will be required to stay at home for 14 days.
[Example] If the last contact date is January 1st, the health observation end date is January 6th, the fifth day.
It will be 5 days (from the 6th day to normal life) with the later day of the following as day 0.
- Onset date of positive person (sample collection date in the case of asymptomatic (asymptomatic pathogen carrier))
- The day when infection control measures were taken in the residence due to the onset of a positive person
However, if another family member of the positive person's cohabiting family develops symptoms, that day will be counted as day 0.
Note: Infection control refers to measures such as wearing a mask as much as possible in daily life, washing hands and disinfecting hands, avoiding sharing of supplies, etc., and implementing disinfection, etc. If such measures are taken, strict isolation is not necessary.
According to the notification of the government on July 22nd, if you are asymptomatic and test negative on the 2nd and 3rd days using the antigen qualitative test kit, regardless of whether you are a social function maintainer, 3 It has become possible to cancel from the first day. If you wish to cancel the health observation period, please carry out the following tests. In addition, it is not necessary to contact the public health center when canceling.
Inspection method | Inspection date | remarks |
---|---|---|
Antigen qualitative test kit | 2nd and 3rd day | Only test kits that have been approved by the Pharmaceutical Affairs Law |
(Note) Inspection costs will be borne by the applicant.
In addition, until 7 days have passed after the stay-at-home order has been lifted, it is necessary to check the health condition by yourself, such as temperature measurement, contact with people who are at high risk of becoming seriously ill if infected, such as the elderly or those with underlying diseases, or become seriously ill. Avoid non-essential visits to facilities and medical institutions for the elderly and disabled, where many people at high risk are admitted or hospitalized, avoid using places with high risk of infection, eating together, etc., and take measures against infection such as wearing a mask. Please be thorough.

Frequently asked questions/answers
We have summarized the frequently asked questions from those who have been in close contact with us in the form of questions and answers (the response may change depending on the infection status).
Question 1Is it absolutely prohibited to go to work during the health observation period? (Is it prohibited to go out?)
Answer 1 Based on Article 44 of the Infectious Diseases Control Law, the Public Health Center asks you to stay at home during the health observation period.
A close contact person is a person who may be infected, not an infected person. We are asking for your cooperation from the perspective of preventing the spread of infection from the public health center.
Specifically, please refrain from going out unnecessarily, commuting to work or school, and meeting with others inside or outside the house. There are no restrictions on working or living without contact with other people, such as teleworking or taking online classes. It is possible to go shopping for a short time while wearing a mask.
Question 2Is there compensation for absence from work during the health observation period?
Answer 2 : We do not provide compensation for those who have been in close contact with us while we are closed. Thank you for your understanding.
Question 3 Does it cost money to take a PCR test?
Answer 3 The PCR test fee is covered by public funds, but there is a consultation fee (first or re-examination fee). In general, you will be billed at the hospital counter after deducting the PCR test fee, but the payment method differs depending on the hospital.
Question 4 I took a PCR test at my own expense. Will I get my money back? (Do you have any assistance?)
A4I'm sorry, but we do not cover the cost of PCR testing at our own expense. note that.
Question 5 : If I test negative, will the health observation period be shortened?
Answer 5 Even if the test result is negative, it is still possible to develop the disease, so please stay home and observe your health for 5 days even if the test result is negative. However, regardless of whether they are social function maintainers (essential workers) or not, antigen qualitative test kits approved by the pharmaceutical affairs were used on the 2nd and 3rd days after the last exposure date (contact with a positive person, etc.) If the test is negative, the health observation period will end from the third day. In addition, until the 7 days have passed, please check your own health condition such as temperature measurement, avoid using high-risk places and dining, and wear a mask to prevent infection.
Question 6 The results of the PCR test will be available after the health observation period. What should I do?
A6Please stay at home until you get the test results.
Q7I have a regular check-up during my health observation period (I have an appointment for an examination). What should I do?
A7Please consult with the hospital you go to.
Each hospital is different in terms of drug prescriptions and methods of consultation. In addition, since the response differs depending on the patient's medical examination status, etc., please contact the hospital by phone first.
Question8What should I do during the health observation period?
Answer 8 Stay at home, take your temperature every day, and check your physical condition by yourself.
If you have a fever of 37.5 degrees or higher, a persistent cough, or difficulty breathing even when you move a little, please consult a medical institution.
Question 9Are there any movement restrictions for people who have been in contact with close contacts?
Answer 9 There is nothing in particular.
A close contact person is a person who may be infected, not an infected person. Therefore, the public health center will not ask for movement restrictions for those who have been in contact with close contacts.
Question 10 I became a close contact person, so my family was banned from going to work (or school). What should I do?
Answer 10The public health center does not restrict the movement of those who have been in contact with close contacts. It is up to the company (school) to decide, so please consult with them.
Question 11 What happens if I test positive?
A11For more information, please refer to "If you are infected" on the Suginami City website.
