Regarding the consultation desk and inspection system in Itabashi Ward following the announcement of the medical institutions that deliver febrinogen preparations
On January 17, 2008, the Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare re-announced the medical institutions that deliver fibrinogen formulations.
Fibrinogen preparations are a type of pharmaceutical made from human blood components, and were once used by many medical institutions, especially before June 1988, for purposes such as hemostasis during heavy bleeding. However, at that time, the technology to inactivate the hepatitis virus mixed in the raw material of the fibrinogen preparation was not sufficient, so people who were administered the preparation before 1994 were not infected with the hepatitis virus. It is thought that the possibility of being there is higher than the general public.
For the following people, we recommend that you undergo a hepatitis C virus test.
[People who should be called for testing]
Those who have received treatment at a public medical institution before 1994 and fall under the following 1 to 5
- Those who have had heavy bleeding during pregnancy or childbirth.
- Those who have undergone surgery that causes heavy bleeding.
- Those who have had a large amount of bleeding due to ruptured esophageal varices, digestive system disease, trauma, etc.
- Those who have been pointed out that it is difficult to stop bleeding due to diseases such as cancer, leukemia, and liver disease.
- Those who have undergone treatment such as special renal stone/gallstone removal (method for removing stones by embedding them in a fibrin clot), pleural adhesion for pneumothorax, adhesion of tendons/fractures, etc. These treatments are examples of using fibrinogen preparations as bioadhesive fibrin glue, and were reported by pharmaceutical companies to the Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare. For details, please ask the medical institution where you received the treatment directly.)
