Even those who have missed the opportunity to receive the cervical cancer preventive vaccine due to the withdrawal of active recommendation can receive it free of charge as a routine vaccination.

Target audience

Females born between April 2, 1997 and April 1, 2006

In addition, during the implementation period of the catch-up vaccination, girls in grades who are newly excluded from the regular vaccination will also be eligible.
Example) If a person who is equivalent to a first-year high school student in 2022 is not vaccinated in 2022, they will be eligible for a catch-up vaccination in 2023.

  • Please bring your pre-examination slip and maternal and child health handbook (if you have one) to the medical institution.
  • Consent and companionship of parents are not required for catch-up vaccinations.

For those who have been vaccinated at their own expense during the withholding period of active vaccination recommendation (reimbursement payment)

For those who have vaccinated at their own expense (voluntarily vaccinated) during the period of withholding active vaccination recommendation, we will implement "reimbursement payment" to pay all or part of the cost required.

Target audience

Females born between April 2, 1997 and April 1, 2005 who meet all of the following conditions:

  • Those who are registered as residents of Nakano Ward as of April 1, 2022
  • Those who have not completed 3 doses of vaccinations by March 31 of the year in which they turn 16 (equivalent to the first year of high school).
  • Those who received voluntary HPV vaccination between April 1st and March 31st, 2022 of the fiscal year in which they turned 17 years old (equivalent to the second year of high school) and paid for the actual cost.

*As of April 1, 2013, the cervical cancer preventive vaccine has become a routine vaccination. No reimbursement will be made for any doses given prior to that date. Please be careful.

  • If you do not have the documents listed in 1, please consult with the medical institution where you received the vaccination. You may be asked to issue a receipt or an alternative certificate.

  • If you do not have the document 2, please submit the Form 2 Certificate for Voluntary Inoculation Cost Subsidy Application for Human Papillomavirus Infection after receiving a certificate from a medical institution.
  • If you cannot prepare either of the documents 1 and 2 (or alternative documents), you cannot apply.
  • Only bivalent and quadrivalent vaccines are eligible for reimbursement. 9-valent vaccine (Sylgardine) is not covered.
