Hib infection, pediatric pneumococcal vaccination

Approximately 600 to 1,000 children in Japan are infected with bacterial meningitis each year. Hib vaccine and pediatric pneumococcal vaccine are vaccines that prevent infectious diseases such as bacterial meningitis. Until 2012, Meguro Ward provided public funding as a voluntary vaccination, but from April 1, 2013, it became a routine vaccination (vaccination that can be received free of charge based on the Immunization Act). Pre-examination vote is mailed to target person at the end of the month before becoming two months after birth.

Pneumococcal vaccine for children

The pediatric pneumococcal vaccine is different than the adult pneumococcal vaccine. As for the pediatric pneumococcal vaccine to prevent pneumococcal infectious disease that became routine immunization from April 1, 2013, "prevener" (sedimentation heptavalent pneumococcal conjugate vaccine) of seven kinds of ingredients is used. was From November 1, 2013, we switched to "Plevenar 13" (sedimentation 13-valent pneumococcal-binding vaccine) with 13 different ingredients.
