About notification based on the Infectious Disease Law
Based on the Law Concerning Prevention of Infectious Diseases and Medical Care for Patients with Infectious Diseases (hereafter referred to as the Infectious Diseases Law) Article 12, Paragraph 1 and Article 14, Paragraph 2, a doctor who has diagnosed a specified infectious disease should go to the nearest public health center. It is to be delivered.
Notification standards and notification forms
- Immediately after diagnosis for category 1 to category 4 infections, within 7 days for category 5 infections (immediately for measles, rubella, and invasive meningococcal infections) Please submit an outbreak report to the local public health center.
- For new coronavirus infections, it is recommended to submit using the Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare's system "HER-SYS (New Coronavirus Infected Person Information Grasp and Management Support System)". (If submitted by HER-SYS, there is no need to fax paper or submit the original.) If you are considering introducing HER-SYS, please contact the department in charge of measures against new coronavirus infectious diseases.

In addition, tuberculosis is included in the second kind infectious disease from April, 2007.

When there is a delay in notification
If there is a delay in reporting the notification, you will be required to submit a statement of the reason for the delay. Please submit it together with the notification of occurrence.
