About Ebola

What is Ebola hemorrhagic fever

  • It is transmitted through close contact with a patient infected with the Ebola virus.
  • The incubation period is 2 to 21 days (often 1 week). Symptoms include sudden fever, headache, malaise, muscle pain, and sore throat. Vomiting, diarrhea, and decreased visceral function are observed.
  • Patients cannot spread the infection to others before symptoms appear.

Infected through close contact

  • Infection occurs through close contact such as medical care and nursing of patients, nursing care and care provided by family members and close people. (The Ebola virus is contained in the patient's blood, stool, saliva, vomit, etc. Medical workers and family members are thought to be infected by direct contact with these.)
  • There is no airborne infection.
