[Regular] Subsidy for rubella antibody test and vaccination For men born between April 2, 1962 and April 1, 1979 (additional measures against rubella)

For three years from April 1, 2019, additional measures have been implemented to prevent the spread of rubella infection among men in the generation with low antibody prevalence.
By decision of the Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare, this system will be extended until the end of 2024.

Additional measures against rubella

Rubella spread nationwide from the end of July 2018 to 2019, mainly among men in their 30s to 50s.
In response to this situation, rubella antibodies were administered to males born between April 2, 1962 and April 1, 1979, who did not have the opportunity to be vaccinated against rubella. Routine rubella vaccination is carried out based on the provisions of Article 5, Paragraph 1 of the Inspection and Immunization Act.
We will issue free coupons that can be used at designated medical institutions nationwide to eligible people.
First of all, take a rubella antibody test, and if you find that you do not have enough antibodies as a result of the antibody test, get a routine vaccination.
