About type B and C virus hepatitis test

It is estimated that there are 200,000 to 300,000 people infected with hepatitis B and C viruses in Tokyo.
Viral hepatitis does not cause many symptoms, and the disease may progress without you noticing it. Therefore, it is important to receive medical examinations, early detection, and treatment.
In Kita Ward, tests for hepatitis B and C are carried out at medical institutions in the city commissioned by the city.
If you would like to be tested, please contact the Health Prevention Division of the Kita Ward Public Health Center by phone.

For those who wish to have a hepatitis test

  • Blood tests are performed (antigen test for type B, antibody test for type C).
  • The results will be sent to you by the medical institution where you took the test.
  • If the test result is positive, the public health center may contact you individually to recommend treatment.
  • Inspection data will be used as statistical data, etc., after giving due consideration to the protection of personal information.

  • Kita Ward residents over 20 years old (those who work or go to school are not eligible)
  • Those who have never had a hepatitis virus test in the past
  • Those who do not have the opportunity to undergo a hepatitis virus test at a ward resident medical checkup or a health checkup at work

After applying, we will mail the "Kita Ward Hepatitis Virus Examination Sheet" and "List of Medical Institutions" etc. to the applicant.
