1st and 2nd doses of the new coronavirus vaccine for children aged 5 to 11 years old

Children aged 5 to 11 who live in Nakano Ward can receive the first and second doses of the new coronavirus vaccine at medical institutions in Nakano Ward and large-scale vaccination venues in Tokyo.

  • Parental consent and presence is required.
  • If you have any questions or concerns about vaccines, please consult your family doctor.


Vaccination tickets will be sent out the month before the child's 5th birthday.
If you do not receive the vaccination ticket or if you lose it, please call the call center ( 0120-76-4040 ).

Vaccination Venue/Reservation Method

You can get vaccinated at medical institutions in Nakano Ward and large-scale vaccination venues in Tokyo.
Children between the ages of 5 and 8 should be vaccinated at medical institutions as much as possible.

When you come to the vaccination venue, please bring the following four items.

  • inoculation ticket
  • Identity verification documents (health insurance card, My Number card, etc.)
  • Completed pre-examination form
  • Maternal and Child Health Handbook (as much as possible)

Vaccine to inoculate

Pediatric Pfizer Vaccine (1/3 of the active ingredient of the Pfizer Vaccine for children 12 years and older)

Inoculation interval

2 doses 3 weeks apart
If a child who was 11 years old at the time of the first dose turns 12 years old before the second dose, the second dose will be the same Pfizer Pediatric Vaccine.

Interval between other vaccinations

  • If other vaccinations are given before or after, in principle, leave an interval of at least 13 days between the new coronavirus vaccination.
  • Influenza vaccine can be vaccinated at the same time as the new corona vaccine.

  • After vaccination, side effects such as pain at the injection site, headache, and fever may occur.
