Approach to publicizing infectious disease cases (Updated December 12, 4)

On September 26, 2014, in response to the fact that the number of people subject to notification of the outbreak of the new coronavirus infectious disease was limited, [publication of the number of new infected people by infection route] of [municipal facilities and private facilities related to ward projects] has ended.

Approach to publicizing infectious disease cases (Updated January 19, 3)

Until now, the city has carefully examined and announced the details of each case of new coronavirus infection that occurred at municipal facilities, etc., but as the number of cases of infection increases, it is more effective from the perspective of preventing the spread of infection. In order to make it high, we will announce it based on the following ideas in the future.

[Municipal facilities and private facilities related to ward projects]

  • As a general rule, individual cases will not be published, but the number of new infections by infection route will be tallied and published in a table each week (From the total for the week of January 18, the city website "Infection status in the city" will be published).
  • However, in the event that a group infection occurs at a facility used by an unspecified number of people, or if there is a risk of the spread of infection due to the inability to identify close contacts, the facility name and infection status will be announced.

[Other private facilities]

  • As before, in principle, it will be confidential.
  • However, in the following cases, after consultation with the private facility concerned, the facility name and infection status will be announced in whole or in part.
    • When nosocomial infection occurs at a private medical institution
    • In cases where it is necessary to call attention to residents, such as when a mass infection occurs at a private business operator
    • When a private business establishment requests public announcement from the city for the purpose of publicizing the city residents, and the contents of the public announcement are appropriate.

【note】

  • Even if the information is not disclosed, the information will be provided individually to related parties such as users of the facility.
  • Normally, even in cases that are publicized, if there is a risk of identifying an infected person, the name of the facility and all or part of the infection status will not be made public.

(Note 1) Consideration will be given to avoid confusion in the medical field due to the identification of the medical institution.
(Note 2) Consideration will be given to avoid infringement of privacy and negative impact on management due to the identification of individuals and companies.
