About community comprehensive care system

In Japan, the population is aging at a speed unprecedented in the world. Especially in Osaka Prefecture, the number of elderly people is expected to increase significantly due to the effects of population influx during the high economic growth period.

After 2025, when the baby boomer generation (approximately 8 million people) will be 75 years old or older, the demand for medical care and nursing care is expected to increase further, and it is important to maintain the dignity of the elderly. With the aim of supporting independent living, medical care, nursing care, prevention, housing, and life support are provided in an integrated manner so that people can continue to live in their own way until the end of their lives in a familiar area as much as possible. We are building a "community comprehensive care system" in stages by 2025, and are promoting initiatives with a view to 2040.
