About mild traumatic brain injury

What is Mild Traumatic Brain Injury (MTBI)?

A direct blow to the head, such as in a car accident, or a strong jolt can cause brain damage. Even if the impact is mild and CT scans show no abnormalities, severe or prolonged symptoms may appear after a few days or weeks, so caution is required.

Major cause

  • traffic accident
  • fall from height
  • fall down
  • sports injuries
  • violence
  • infant shaking

Main subjective symptoms

  • Decreased memory, comprehension, attention/concentration, and emotional instability (higher brain dysfunction)
  • Paroxysmal consciousness disorder (epileptic seizures)
  • Poor limb movement, dull sensation in limbs (motor paralysis, sensory paralysis)
  • No smell, hard to see, no taste, choked with water (cranial nerve palsy)
  • Urinary and fecal output is different than before (sphincter disorder)

If you experience any of these symptoms after a traffic accident, please seek medical attention.
