Contact lenses (including colored contact lenses) are classified as "highly controlled medical devices" under the Act on Securing Quality, Efficacy and Safety of Pharmaceuticals and Medical Devices. May cause serious eye disorders such as keratitis and corneal ulcers.
For contact lens wearers
How to use contact lenses safely
- Before purchasing contact lenses, consult an eye doctor.
- Even if you do not feel anything wrong with your eyes, you may still have an eye disorder, so be sure to have regular check-ups.
- Please read the package insert of the product carefully, follow the handling method, and avoid using it unreasonably.
- If you feel any abnormality in your eyes, immediately stop using the product and consult an ophthalmologist.
- In addition, since the lenses are colored, it is difficult for oxygen to reach the eyes and the cornea is easily damaged, so caution is required when using colored contact lenses.
- When making purchases over the Internet, make sure that you receive appropriate information before making a purchase.
- Some foreign contact lenses (including color contact lenses) have not been confirmed to be safe in Japan, and personal imports are a direct transaction with overseas companies, so there are problems with their purchase and use. Even if it occurs, you will be responsible for handling it. When purchasing overseas products on the Internet, be sure to carefully check the display contents such as the Specified Commercial Transaction Law, whether it is a personal import agency or a regular mail order.
